Who Am I? Who Are We?

Evidently, the identity of the writer/writers of this blog is/are an issue for some.
Huh.
Let's talk about that.
Each person that responds to these posts is afforded the opportunity to conceal their identity, or not, depending on their personal choice.
We believe that when people are shielded from possible repercussions, they are more apt to speak freely.
Even 'tip' lines for reporting criminal activities are anonymous. Or you can give your name, if you so choose.
While everything in this blog is absolutely tainted with our own personal opinion and slant, we stand by the truthfulness of the facts.
Challenge our opinions? Please do.
Challenge the facts? Please do.
We keep telling you, dear readers, to do your own investigating and make up your own minds.
For now, the writers of this blog choose to remain anonymous.
Perhaps that will change in the future.
Bottom line, it is our choice to make.
Plus, it's kinda fun to be Anonymous.
As 99% of the posters here seem to agree!

P.S. About the 6 followers: we like being followed. While the local paper may have a 'bigger' readership, people come to US - we don't go to their mailboxes unasked for and unbidden. (which would make the local paper kind of a stalker, right?)

  1. Very well put!! I am sick of the other paper not because I don't want to support local but because of the fact that they do not know how to publish a paper!! And that paper started local and should stay local!!!!!!! Thank you for being a true source of local news. It is a breath of fresh air!!!

  2. Wnat other newspaper? If you are speaking of the smug times, you be happy to know they have trapped themselves into a free fall. The only way they can sell ads is to brag about the amount of people they touch. Stop giving it away and wait for gushing sound as they circle the drain. Thanks for being with us Herald. Stay true.

  3. Although I do not like the direction of the local newspaper, they are still a local business. They do business here and are a part of our community. I hope they see the error of their ways and come back into the light, however, I could never wish them anything but success. I also support this blog and my right, with everyone else's, to remain anonymous.

  4. I pose a question to the person in charge of this publication, and though I like what you represent i'm a little curious why there has been nothing mentioned pertaining to the possible benifits of the expansion of the village police into the township? The Sun Times wrote what seems to me to be a great plan from the folks in leadership in the quest to keep us all safe. Are you staying out of this for any particular reason? I trust this site to give a perspective we may not see in the times due to some conflicts of interest. What are your thoughts?

  5. Continuing to hide behind anonymity continues to allow the author(s) of this blog to dodge the very accountability you demand of others. Again who are you? A true and honest discourse is impossible until you disclose your identities.

  6. I believe in the Smug Times has published a few articles when no one wa listed as the writer. I'm sure there was a good reason for that. I don't believe anyone cared. Why is this publication any different.

  7. The town lier is just pissed that someone else is doing something else in town. I hope people realize there are other papers that are delivered to Stockbridge. Maybe its time for the Village and Towhship to build relationships with those other news papers. Maybe then there will be some coverage that is neutral. Keep up the good work with what you are doing. Who ever you are. :)

  8. You said, "We believe that when people are shielded from possible repercussions, they are more apt to speak freely." And, I might add, disrespect your neighbors, and say pretty much anything that crosses your mind. Can you say CYBER-BULLY? Fess up and put your name(s) behind your "truth".

  9. I really like this blog. However when it first started it was filled with positive articles supporting our local Village government and the positive things within our town. Please dont loose sight of that. Lets keep the personal bickering with the local paper to a minimum. I hope you can use this blog to promote our town in a positive way. Keep up the good work.
